    Was so enticed and excited with the first episode. The second was a real cliff hanger, but I am bummed out that the writers didn't think this through. How is it that they can hear him speaking and breathing when he is in his mistresses apartment through the implanted device but when he is in a private discussion with the dear doctor they are not on to it? Not sure if this will keep my interest.

    After a long wait, the first episode of Hostages finally aired last night. How did it fare amongst critics? Check out a general overview of its reception below!

    "The writers will have to work to keep her and McDermott tied together, and that’s rarely a good sign. Are they going to have adventures? Is half this season going to revolve around therapy sessions and court trials? Maybe. And maybe it’ll be amazing. But for now, the only reason to recommend this is that it could’ve been worse."

    Can you believe it, folks? The series premiere of the CBS thriller Hostages is only a month away and we couldn't be more excited.

    If you don't already know, Hostages centers on physician tasked with doing surgery on the President of the United States. The doctor, named Ellen Sanders (Toni Colette), is taken hostage, along with her family, by a rogue FBI agent named Duncan Carlisle, played by Dylan McDermott, who orders her to assassinate the president during surgery -- or else.

    Fictional hostage situations have a long and storied legacy in Hollywood. To hype ourselves up for the show's premiere, we thought we'd showcase a few of our favorite hostage-oriented films. If we missed any of your favorites, let us know in the comments!
